Phew what a couple of weeks it as been! Just time for a quick catch up…

Last week we went to the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, which were being held at the Lowry in Salford. We were very excited to be nominated this year for the catagory for the best new act, the ‘Horizon’ award. We had a jolly good time partying in to the small hours and it was great to see lots of friends we don’t usually see outside festival season.

We had a day to recover in Manchester (eat, sleep) before heading back to the BBC in Salford on Friday morning at 8:30am to warm ourselves up for a feature on BBC Radio 4′s Woman’s Hour. We had a lovely time singing and chatting to Jenni Murray and the gang (and apparently several million listeners!) and she even signed our copy of ‘Is it me or or is it hot in here’!

Straight after Woman’s Hour we were back on the road to Cheltenham for our first festival of the year. We had a lovely time singing at the festival and were very well looked after by the team – what a great festival!

After Cheltenham we just had a couple of days to relax before helping Hannah and Sam launch their wonderful new album ‘State and Ancientry’ at Cecil Sharp House. The launch was great and featured Lady Maisery as guests among many other fantastic musicians – and we all got a mention in the 4 * review of the gig in the Times the next day. Nice!

Only a couple of weeks till we go on tour – we have 15 dates in March (and three workshops thrown in there too!). The full details are on our gig list: www.ladymaisery.com/gigs

Hope to see some of you there :)

P.S. Just before the Folk Awards, we caught up with the fantastic photographer Elly Lucas for the afternoon and did some new band shots. Here is a sneaky preview! http://www.ellylucas.co.uk/
